Glitter

Hey guys!
Quick update. I recently did a small modeling session for make up artist, Fred Vellon and online magazine, Refinery29.com. I had so much fun! The online magazine is based in New York but it will be launching in Miami very soon. Fred Vellon was a pleasure to work with and his work is amazing.

I was used as a model to show a make up tutorial on how to use glitter in a sophisticated look. I was given a bold red lip with red glitter. The tutorial will be up in time for the holidays.

I will post pictures as soon as I receive them!

Oscar de la Renta

Last night I had the pleasure of working at an Oscar de la Renta fashion show and Gala event, which raised money for Project New Born. (The organization cares for infants with sever illnesses.) I worked backstage dressing models.

The night started off with a silent auction and ended with the fashion show.
The guests viewed  Oscar de la Renta's Resort 2012 collection. The collection was beautiful and Spanish inspired.

Here are some photos from the actual Oscar de la Renta show:

Stitches

Sunny, warm day. This it what I wore to my English class.  I wore my zig zag stitch skirt with a simple blue shirt and brown boots.
Can be worn with boots for a more comfortable look. Or with Nude pumps.

Grouped some random silver bracelets together for a chunky accessory.

Red Ribbon

November is AIDS awareness month. My school held a design competition which students made a garment out of red ribbon in honor of AIDS awareness. I decided to participate even though I am not an advanced sewer...yet. Selected garments will be displayed during a Gallery event at my school for World AIDS Day.

I will find out soon if my garment made it into the display. The quality of my garment is for sure that of a beginner but I wanted to give it a try and participate!

I made a hair accessory to go with my garments. I covered a plain black headband with red fabric. Then I made and sewed a giant bow on top and added tulle.

Everything is made from scratch. I used all red ribbon except the skirt has a black fabric base underneath. I did not use a pattern, I draped everything on the dress form.

Out for Errands

Chilly but sunny day doing errands. This is a perfect outfit for a casual day of errands.
Comfortable black boots. Body con grey skirt. Black tank top under a wrap cotton sweater.
Something easy to throw on but cute at the same time.

Do you believe in Magic

Today was my illustration class and we learned how to render sequin fabrics. For
my homework I drew a collection of sequin garments inspired by the Holidays and New Years. I wore my sequin bandeau that I made last summer, to match the sequined fabric in my illustrations.

I wore my handmade Bandeau top under a white V-neck. Paired with black jeggings, a black croped blazer and my black slouch boots
